LaQunita Hotel
As hurricane Gustav (August/2008) was passing through New Orleans, Emergency Restoration, Inc. (ERI) received a request to inspect the LaQunita Hotel located in the New Orleans French Quarter. With the city completely evacuated, the National Guard had reported extensive water coming from every visible exterior door and window. Upon arrival, ERI verified the damage and proceeded to gained access with the assistance of the New Orleans Police & Fire Departments. From that point and for nearly sixty days straight, ERI worked an average of 30 technicians and 3 supervisors, to stabilize and minimize the building damages. Under the harshest conditions; extreme heat and minimum lighting: dehumidification, debris removal, demolition and mold remediation was performed ahead of schedule, within the estimated reserves and
without a single work related injury!
Jefferson Parish Regional Library
Recently, the largest public library of the New Orleans Metropolitan area lost power & climate control to its most sensitive areas; the Special Collections Department. It is this area that holds the city archives and governmental journals that are available, under security, for on-site research only. During this time, it was discovered that more than 10,000 documents had become contaminated with microbial growth. Emergency Restoration, Inc. (ERI) was contracted to; assess the damage, outline a plan-of-action, & estimate the remediation cost. Within 21 days, an on-site clean room was constructed, each document remediated as well as the structure & contents, all documents placed back in order and post clearance testing performed. Test results revealed that ERI performance was successful on its first attempt.
River Parish Hospital
Shortly after completion of a new multi-million dollar Radiology Department, the facility maintenance staff detected what appeared to be a microbial indoor air quality concern within the records storage areas. This climate controlled area was designated strictly for x-ray files. ERI was contacted to assess the microbial evidence, determine the causation and perform the necessary remediation. Considering the sensitive nature of the situation, ERI immediately dispatched a full crew and supervisor. Working 2 shifts around the clock, ERI; inventoried, packed-out and moved off-sight 250 thousand x-ray files. While performing structural remediation, ERI crews worked diligently at our facility cleaning each x-ray, replacing each file jacket and transferring all file information. ERI is proud to announce the job was completed successfully and timely and with every x-ray accounted for.
Forest Park Apartments
In the aftermath of hurricane Katrina, the New Orleans area has struggled to provide affordable housing to its rental population. Most large developments had been drastically damaged and in need of much repair. Emergency Restoration, Inc. (ERI) was honored by a very large national General Contractor to bid on a 300 unit multi-family complex. The scope was to remove, clean and/or remediate interior building material that went unattended to for several years following hurricane Katrina. ERI was successful in securing the remediation contract and we are proud to say that the job was completed ahead of schedule, under budget and was highlighted in the General Contractors national news letter for exceeding all expectations.
